Hype: The Time Quest is the first cool game to be made by Playmobil for kids over 8. You are Hype, a Playmobil soldier who has to fight these medieval bad guys and eventually this dragon. You start off near a wizards workshop. When you get there, he is mad at you. There, you find your first puzzle and your first enemiy (besides the wizard). The enemies are a little annoying because they are really easy to kill, but they regenerate constantly. Now, to the review... The control is a little awkward, but fairly easy to get used to. The sound is pretty good because everyone talks in this game, which is cool, but the music doesn't always seem to fit the situation. I guess that is so it doesn't get too eerie, like it sounds really happy even when there are enemies all around you. The graphics could be better, but they are fine. The explosions are really cool. It is pretty fun, and the puzzles can be challenging. The lasting appeal isn't the best because it is a fairly easy game, and when you are done, that's it. One thing that I don't necessarily like about this game is that it is full of magic. Everything is magic, magic, magic. However, the magic is very helpful. You can do these swirly moves and send a shockwave all around you. If you have the time to execute the move, it can be helpful. I would recommend this game to kids ages 8-13. It is fun, but a little easy for older kids. The cost is pretty low, so if you are looking for a medieval PC game, this would be a good one to consider. Definitly download the demo first though.

Pros:
Pretty good graphics
Fairly fun
Great sound

Cons:
Not much lasting appeal for older gamers who would beat it quickly

Objectionable Content:
Full of magic and sorcerers
